II.Documents to be submitted (all in duplicate):

Application – no specific format required – to be filed by a professor of an institution of higher education in North Rhine-Westphalia, application must be received no later than three months before the next meeting of the board of trustees; it would be much appreciated if an additional version of the complete set of documents in electronic form could be send to martina.schoeler@miwf.nrw.de. |
| 2. Candidate's CV (in German) with a special focus on his/her academic career. |
| 3. Copies of academic certificates and diplomas etc (together with a translation into German, where appropriate). Candidates who already work as full-time lecturers in higher education or hold a similar position are exempt from that obligation. |
| 4. Outline of the research project in German including a project schedule. |
| 5. Detailed information about the duration and amount of the requested bursary (see I., items 5. and 7.). |
| 6. German researchers who plan to do a project abroad are requested to submit a confirmation issued by the host institution (including a translation into German). |
| 7. Proof of foreign language skills (see I., item 8.). |
| 8. Statement about the activity/occupation the candidate intends to undertake upon completion of the sponsored research project (see I., item 9.). |
| 9. Statement as to whether other applications for a bursary have been filed with other institutions in Germany, and if so, with which institution(s). |
| 10. Contact details of two researchers at two different German institutions of higher education other than the German institution where the applicant is working (in cluding postal address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address). |
| 11. Public service employees will have to agree in good time the details of their leave of absence and of the continued payment of their salaries, where applicable. |
| 12. Statement as to whether the candidate agrees to his/her name and the names of their current academic institution and their host institution being published on the website of the Heinrich Hertz Foundation. |
