How to apply for a bursary from Heinrich Hertz Foundation:
III.Decision on the application:
| 1. As a rule, the board of trustees convenes twice a year to decide on the applications received. The date of the forthcoming meeting can be found on the internet at: www.heinrich-hertz-stiftung.de. |
| 2. In urgent exceptional cases, the chairperson of the board can, within certain limits (e.g. duration of the research project does not exceed 3 months), decide at their discretion between two regular meetings. |
| 3. After the board of trustees has taken a decision, the applicant will be informed of the next steps. |
IV.Next steps once the bursary has been granted:
| 1. The declaration of acceptance ("Einverständniserklärung"), which is forwarded together with the notification of the granting of the bursary, has to be signed and returned by the applicant. |
| 2. Immediately after the commencement date of the research project has been fixed, the date must be notified to the administrative department of the higher education institution which will then request payment of the funds for the holder of the bursary. |
| 3. If the bursary cannot be used at once, the secretariat of the foundation has to be notified of this. Should the bursary funds not be claimed within two years, the foundation shall be free to use the funds for other purposes. |
| 4. Both the applicant and the holder of the bursary have to make sure that the bursary conditions are met throughout the bursary period and that the funds are used appropriately. |
| 5. Upon completion of the sponsored project the applicant has to draw up a report and complete the form for accounting for the use of the funds ("Verwendungsnachweis") and to forward them to the administrative department of the institution of higher education. Once the documents have been checked by the latter, they have to be submitted to the secretariat of the Heinrich Hertz Foundation. |
